Who are we?

Introducing Sound Pop Academy! We’re the South’s leading group for young people aged 2-17 and we’re changing the way children and young people access singing, dance and music. Through our weekly academy sessions, performances, holiday workshops, festivals and more, we’re on a mission to get more young people singing.

Our flagship Little and Advanced groups are at the heart of Sound Pop Academy. They run weekly and bring out the best in our young performers. Our Little group (for 6-8 year olds) is all about building confidence, sparking friendships, developing performance skills and having tonnes of fun. Meanwhile, our Advanced group (for 9-17 year olds) offers young people to chance to master harmonies, work on vocal skills and perform at epic venues, from bustling shopping centres and community performances to festivals professional stages. These groups help young people blossom into incredible performers, and allow them to create unforgettable memories along the way. For our youngest popstars, we also run our Mini group (ages 3-5), a joyful introduction to music through imagination and play.

And the fun doesn’t stop there! Beyond our core academy sessions, we’re bringing the magic of performing arts to even more young people. We run themed holiday workshops inspired by popular films and artists, custom birthday parties that make every celebration unforgettable as well as partnering with schools to deliver after-school clubs. Through bespoke workshops for schools, Local Authorities, and businesses, we make singing and performance as accessible to the communities we work in as possible.

One of the highlights of our year is our summer festival, a family event that brings our members, their families, and the local community together for a day of music, laughter and fun. Launched in 2024, our annual festival has already become a beloved event that highlights Sound Pop Academy’s vibrant community.

We’re also committed to making singing a staple in school classrooms. VocalKit, our collaboration with Southampton and Isle of Wight Music Hub, provides schools with easy-to-use resources that help teachers confidently bring singing into the school day, regardless of their musical background.

Because every young person deserves a chance to sing, dance and perform with confidence and joy. Whether they dream of a career in music or just love singing to their favourite pop star, Sound Pop Academy gives them a place to grow, learn and shine. We believe in high-quality performing arts classes that are fun, accessible and affordable – and we’re here to make it happen!
